Welcome to Ukiyo

Let me introduce you to Ukiyo - a Japanese term which I connect with deeply as it embodies my approach to life. “A modern state of mind, living in the moment, detached from the bothers of life.”

After working as a carer mentor for 4 years & later within the skincare & beauty industry, I wanted to continue my career with face to face connection whilst considering my own wellbeing too. Ukiyo was born from a genuine passion of holistic & relaxation based treatments, being a client myself for the past 5 years! My clients will often hear me rave about the importance of stress release, self care & wellbeing & I know these treatments help both myself & them achieve this.

My menu includes a range of ethically sourced products which blend spa inspired fragrances with results driven treatments. 100% of products used are vegan, cruelty free & paraben free. 100% of my Tropic & Pinks Boutique ranges are natural, & between 36%-100% organic. All treatments on offer also have available home care products to purchase should you want to continue your wellbeing in the comfort of your own home.

Mindfulness has also been a huge influence in my personal life recently which I am extending into my very own concept of treatment: the Mindfulness Meditation based Massage. So, here is your official welcome to Ukiyo’s new era of wellness & I look forward to building a powerful, ladies only sanctuary striving for true balance, empowerment & relaxation.

BOOKING INFORMATION

Please use the booking system to schedule your appointment. You can choose whether to pay a £10 deposit to secure your appointment time or whether to pay in full. Please note, both options are non-refundable. If choosing the £10 deposit, this will be deducted from the remaining treatment balance on the day. Payments on the day can be made via bank transfer or card payment. I do not accept cash.

If you are booking via a gift voucher, please contact me directly as my online booking system does not yet support the use of paper vouchers. Vouchers have a 6 month expiry date & will not be accepted as a form of payment if this date has expired.

You will have up to 36 hours before your treatment time to reschedule or cancel your appointment. You can do this via the link provided in your email confirmation, see “change or cancel appointment.” For bookings that are rescheduled or cancelled with 36 hours (or less) notice, the remaining treatment balance will be required & a new booking will have to be made. This also goes for ‘no shows’. Please read through the frequently asked questions below & if you have any further queries, I invite you to contact me directly & I’ll be more than happy to help! As both a Tropic & Pinks Boutique ambassador, I take great pride in offering clients personalized product recommendations to use at home. Both brands demonstrate excellence & quality through their keen eye for ethics, being 100% natural & 36%-100% organic. Tropic boasts a totally carbon neutral, vegan & cruelty free range, whilst Pinks Boutique is also gluten free, & deemed totally organic by the Soil Association. It is a pleasure to not only use these products to their full potential in the treatment room, but also give you a touch of Ukiyo at home.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • I am located in a home based treatment room, a full address is sent via email at the time of booking.

  • A £10 deposit or full payment is taken via my booking system at the time of booking which is non-refundable. If choosing the deposit option, the remaining treatment balance will be due on the day via bank transfer. You will be expected to complete the payment before leaving your appointment. Please be aware my business is cashless.

  • Please contact me directly to book using a gift voucher. (The online booking system does not yet support paper vouchers). All usual booking policies will apply. You must bring your gift voucher with you to your appointment so this can be disposed of accordingly.

  • My opening hours are Monday - Friday, 9am until 4:30pm. I offer Wednesday evening appointments until 7:30pm. Please note evenings are usually booked months in advance. Book ahead to avoid disappointment. Weekend appointments are rare but always posted onto my social media when they are open, so follow my pages to keep up to date.

  • Within your confirmation email is a link which enables you to cancel or reschedule. See “change or cancel appointment.” Follow the steps given within the link. Please note you can do this up to 36 hours beforehand. If you do not show up for your appointment or reschedule/cancel with 36 hours notice or less, you will be charged the full treatment cost.

  • 100% of my menu is vegan, cruelty free & paraben free.

  • All Tropic & Pinks Boutique treatments are 100% natural, & 36%-100% organic. These treatments include:

  • To save time at the start of your facial appointment, it is recommended to remove makeup beforehand & remove any jewellery such as necklaces & earrings. I include a complimentary neck & shoulder massage with each facial so wear a top that allows access to these areas such as a vest top. With regards to body treatments, please also remove jewellery & cover any open cuts or abrasions with a plaster - this is a health & safety requirement. If wearing fake tan, the treatment oils & scrubs can break down the tan, so time your appointment with your own tanning & body care routine!

  • A full breakdown of tips & ‘need to knows’ are given at the end of each treatment along with a paper copy, glass of water & Cliniccare skincare sample.

  • As a rule I recommend bringing your own products to an appointment. This is because although the products themselves may not include nuts, I cannot guarantee the factory the products are made in avoid nuts, or have other products linked to nuts. If you have this allergy please contact me directly on social media or text/WhatsApp & I can personalise a treatment for you using your own products.

  • You can contact me at any time to discuss treatment options & explore what would be suitable. If interested in facial treatments, I’d recommend sending me a photo of your skin via social media & I can recommend some facials for you. Treatments can be adjusted for you, to ensure you get the maximum benefit.

  • There are strict procedures surrounding treatment during pregnancy. Providing you have no complications or medical conditions you can enjoy a 45 minute arms, hands & head massage. I can also offer you a bespoke facial, please get in touch to discuss options.

    Please note, you can only be treated after the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. The treatments suggested are 60 minutes or less & the products included are deemed pregnancy safe. I will prepare the room to be as comfortable as possible, providing extra cushions & support. Some ladies will require a doctor’s consent before beginning treatment if they are prone to miscarriage or sickness. To avoid any doubt, I invite you to contact me directly to discuss your desired treatment & any symptoms you may be experiencing. Pressure points will be avoided & a light massage completed to ensure your safety & comfort.

  • If you are receiving chemotherapy, my personal policy is to wait 3-6 months after the treatment has ended & your symptoms have reduced. If you have cancer but are not receiving chemotherapy, a doctor’s written consent is required before visiting to ensure my service is suitable for you, & should be provided at our first meeting.
