Manual lymphatic drainage is a specialist style of massage specifically improving the internal health of your body. We aim to:

  • remove waste & toxins from your body

  • re-disperse excess fluid back into the bloodstream

  • provide protection from infection by building antibodies.

This treatment is perfect for you if you hold water retention, have a low immune system & commonly catch colds, or have an active interest in the health of your body.

Lymph nodes act as filters throughout the body which provide protection for defence & are essential in removing waste. With a gentle & light massage technique, we aim to target these nodes to effectively reduce swelling, inflammation & promote healing. With a classic Ukiyo approach, this treatment blends relaxation with internal health benefits.

  • Each treatment will include 75 minutes or 105 minutes of treatment time entirely dependant on clients medical needs & personal goals. Either the full body can be treated or bespoke areas.

    Please note this treatment is not suitable for a range of medical conditions & cannot be attended with active colds or infections. Lymphatic drainage massage helps to push & re-disperse lymph throughout the body so if you attend ill this would spread the illness further.   • You cannot have lymphatic drainage massage if you have any of the following medical conditions:

    • cancer

    • heart conditions

    • kidney disease

    • active colds, flu or infection

    • deep vein thrombosis

    • unexplained oedema

    You will require medical consent for this massage if you have any of the following:

    • diabetes

    • epilepsy

    • unmanaged high or low blood pressure

    • excessive varicose veins

    I can accept clients who are 3 months postpartum, & on any weight loss injections.

  • Please drink plenty of water & avoid heavy meals at least 1 hour before. It is also important to avoid caffeine & alcohol 24 hours before as this can hinder the lymphatic function.

  • Following aftercare is key in the longevity of the drainage results. Please stay well hydrated, the fluids in your body will still be moving post treatment. Gentle exercise is also encouraged, avoiding heavy fitness. Some clients may feel dizzy or tired post treatment which is a normal response in your body’s natural healing & detoxification process.

  • For general wellness, a monthly massage is recommended to help improve the health of your body.

    For specific swelling & fluid retention, a weekly treatment over the course of 4-6 weeks is advised to maintain consistent drainage.
